“If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so.” – Thomas Jefferson
To give a little background on this event, last year a women was arrested while silently dancing at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC. She was hardly causing a disturbance as she had her headphones on while quietly listening to her iPod. The courts upheld her arrest by claiming that freedom of expression was not permitted on public memorials because they are designated as solemn places. In other words, this is yet another place where the first amendment does not apply
A grassroots activist in DC was so sickened by this that he decided to spontaneously plan a “Dancing at the TJ Memorial” event on Facebook for Saturday, May 29th. By having a greater number of protestors there, his hopes were that the police sit on their hands and disregard the ridiculous law. Within a few days news about it spread like wildfire, and it was even promoted on liberty shows such as Free Talk Live and Adam Versus the Man. In fact, Adam Kokesh got on board right away as a protestor since he’s now living in DC and by using his national audience he was able to get the word out to many more people through his YouTube videos and TV show on RT TV. He wanted as many people to come out as possible with video cameras, and for those who didn’t want to risk being arrested he encouraged them to dance outside the memorial’s steps to provide moral support for those who were dancing on the inside. At exactly noon, the plan was to have all the protestors there bust out in dancing simultaneously.
The event went down yesterday and resulted in some dismaying results. Six protesters ended up being arrested by thuggish national park officers after doing nothing more than dancing! Adam Kokesh was even caught on camera being body slammed and choked by an officer. Hopefully news about this goes viral to show the world how much of a police state this country has become and how our freedom of expression is continuously being curtailed. If there’s enough public outrage then the public bureaucrats might be forced to rescind this ridiculous law.
“When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.” – Thomas Jefferson
“I was amazed that his statue didn’t crumbled during the incident.” – YouTube comment
Update: here’s the first interview with Adam after the incident. He’s doing okay, and the protestors are going to be back next weekend!

Iraq veteran and freedom movement patriot, Adam Kokesh, is going to be premiering his new show, “Adam vs the Man,” on RT TV on Monday from 4-5 PM PST. If you don’t get the Russia Today channel, you can watch the simulcast online at: http://rt.com/on-air/rt-america-air. This is big news for Adam because he had previously done a radio version of this show on a small Santa Fe AM station, but it didn’t fit so well with the city’s demographics, and was canceled after about a year.
For those who don’t know who Adam Kokesh is, he is a marine and prominent member of the group Iraq Veterans Against War. He is a one of the most energetic leaders of the freedom movement you can find, and he is still very young. He unsuccessfully ran for Congress in his district in New Mexico back in 2008 and I had him listed as one of my Freedom Candidates to watch on my blog.
In his first show, Adam will take on “The Man” in the media, calling out all of the partisan, pop-culture political TV show hosts and their fleeting ideological beliefs.
He’ll show how an Egyptian-style revolt could happen here in the U.S. and he’ll take on the statists with Charlie Veitch.
Adam will “expose the gun in the room” with Stefan Molyneux and discuss with former CIA agent Ray McGovern the violation of his 1st Amendment rights.
And finally, Adam will begin his appeal to the millennial generation, younger people like himself, who see where this country is headed if we don’t change course.

National Freedom Day is a United States observance on February 1st honoring the signing by Abraham Lincoln of a joint House and Senate resolution that later became the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. President Lincoln signed the Amendment outlawing slavery on February 1, 1865, although it was not ratified by the states until later.
Appropriately, February 1st is also the birthday of Adam Kokesh, a brave patriot in the freedom movement who’s running for Congress representing New Mexico’s 3rd district. To honor this day, Kokesh’s campaign is throwing a money bomb to help Adam kick out the democratic incumbent for the seat. Adam is a true man of the people and has no connections to special interests, thus the need for all the financial support he can get from the grassroots. To make things even more daunting, New Mexico’s 3rd district is one of the largest congressional districts in the country and is the size of Kentucky and Connecticut combined! Compare this to California’s 8th district, which encompasses just the city of San Francisco. A map below shows its size.
Adam’s campaign is running on a tight budget and needs all the help it can get to fund transportation across this enormous region and to run primary campaigns in the 16 separate counties. Please consider donating your time or money to his efforts to ensure more freedom candidates in Congress. You can find Adam’s campaign website here at: http://kokeshforcongress.com.

Last night while I was driving home from LA I unexpectedly received a phone call from Adam Kokesh thanking me for my contribution to his campaign. How surprised was I!?! It was such an honor to actually talk to the Congressional candidate in person that I was practically speechless. Nevertheless, I was inspired by this gesture and think that it speaks volumns about the type of person Adam is, a man of the people and a humble patriot. If you feel inspired like me to help Adam, I encourage you to go to his website and sign up as a volunteer: http://www.kokeshforcongress.com/join-adams-all-volunteer-online-army.
Adam Kokesh is my generation’s Ron Paul and we need many more like him in Congress. He may be seen as a young “radical idealist” by many, but he is exactly what we need in Congress instead of some career politician following the status quo. Our government has become so corrupt, and as a moral people we need to begin to start electing moral representatives. Adam Kokesh has the moral character and is a principled fighter for the freedom movement and we need him in Congress now more than ever.
