The candidates’ second quarter donation reports are in, and once again Ron Paul is dominating the rest of the field in donations from active military members, just like he did in 2008. In fact, Ron Paul got more money in donations from the military than ALL other candidates combined, including Obama! [Source: Ron Paul 2012]
Paul raised over $33K from the military, whereas the closest GOP contender, Herman Cain, raised just over $7K. Obama, the titan fundraiser that he is, only raised about $20K.
These numbers tell a lot about what the military feels should be a proper foreign policy. They are tired of being forced to police the world and nation build in countries that hate us. They see first hand how our involvement around the world causes blowback. They just want to come home safe and alive to their families. Thus, they are speaking directly with their money by donating to Ron Paul.
If any neo-con tells you that they think Ron Paul is weak on defense or is anti-military, this donation report completely defies their argument. If they think you’re making this stuff up, please direct them to this page. You can’t argue with cold hard numbers!
It’s time to change the status quo and return to a humble foreign policy espoused by our founding fathers. Thomas Jefferson stated that America’s stance should be “Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations — entangling alliances with none.” Ron Paul is the only candidate who’s consistently preached this philosophy and as president he will have the conviction to follow it.
